TATTOO TALK SUNDAY!

Hello everyone! Today I bring you a different kind of post. These past few days I've been going crazy designing a tattoo that I plan on getting next month. I won't share yet what I'm getting but I'm really excited with the design I'm putting together.

This small journey of deciding what to get and where made me remember the usual questions I get when someone discovers I already have five tattoos. They're small so usually nobody notices them. I even remember talking to a tattoo artist when we were trying to design my sixth (it didn't happen in the end) and he thought it was going to be my first. Apparently I don't seem like a person who likes tattoos and getting tattooed.

So today I'm going to share with you the frequently asked questions I get and why sometimes they annoy me.

1. Do you realize that they're permanent and you're going to have them when you're like 60 years old?

Well yes. I do. And if I don't like them then I can get them removed and If I like them, which probably I will, they will keep me company until they cremate me and share my ashes with the fishes.

2. Did they hurt? Do they worth the pain?

Yes they hurt. Some more than others. It's not like someone is tickling you. It is a needle going into your skin, not a feather caressing your skin. And I knew this before getting tattooed so yes they worth the pain. It's not like they are killing you.

3. What would your family think?

My parents are really cool with them. Don't get me wrong, they don't like tattoos and they wouldn't get them but they respect that I like them and also that I am 27 years old living on my own in another country... They trust me and it's not like I'm going to ink my face.

4, Shouldn't they mean something?

Should they? In a way sometimes I think of tattoos as art. Not that mine are really elaborated (I've got a tiny arrow on a wrist, there's no art in that) but I think that if it doesn't mean anything it's not a big deal. Some of mine mean something, some don't.

5. Aren't you afraid of not getting the job of your dreams because of them?

No. At least not here in Belfast. Maybe in Spain they're more picky although I've never had any problems but here I feel people don't really care about your tattoos, only about if you're good at your job or not.

6. What would your kids think of you?

I don't know. That I'm a cool mom? A weird mom? A normal mom? They may like them, they may not. What I'm sure is that they won't get any tattoos until they're 18. Then they can do whatever they want. It's their skin. It would be very hypocrite to deny them their freedom if they want a design that I don't like, I just want them to be sure of the consequences.

And... I think those are the most asked questions I get when I talk about my tattoos or when someone discovers them. Also I'll leave a few photos of them. If you want to know their meaning just let me know and I'll write a little bit about them in a new post.

See you in the next one!

BOTANIC GREEN

This week I felt confident enough to go to a crowded place like the Botanic Gardens and shoot some photos of the outfit I was wearing.

This shirt/jacket is my favourite of the year and I've been wearing it nonstop. Being able to wear it without a coat over it was a total bless so I wanted to show you the entire outfit.

I just really love the way this shirt goes with everything. Skirts, jeans, dresses... Although my favourite way to wear it is with ripped jeans and a t-shirt.

I'm also in love with all the details on it. And obviously the Captain America shield is my favourite one. I just love to wear it over my Winter Soldier t-shirt. (Nerd alert!)

Also, I'm wearing my favourite handbag. It can be worn crossed or on one shoulder. And I like to throw in some more details so I added a sonic screwdriver. (Again, nerd alert)

I hope you like this outfit or that it inspires you to achieve some great looks.

We'll see each other in the next one ;)

OUTFIT DETAILS
Shirt/Jacket - Pull&Bear
Baywatch t-shirt - Primark
Ripped Jeans - Primark
Handbag - MANGO (old)
Shoes - Primark (super old)

SKINCARE ROUTINE: MY HOLY GRAIL

I'm sure everybody has or has had by the time they're 27 a skincare routine that works for them. Well, in my case, I've been struggling with my skin and getting zits and spots and a terrible redness in one of my cheeks. Sometimes ones that even makeup couldn't cover. I tried millions of products and none of them seemed to work. Or at least they didn't work for long.

But today I can say I'm finally happy with the skincare routine I've had for the last few months. I'm still a work in progress but my skin looks better than it had six months ago. The redness is almost gone and although the acne marks can be seen (they will take a long time to disappear), they don't bother me as much as they did previously. If I can make them disappear with makeup, I'm happy.

"So, Maria, what have you done? What changed?" you will be asking. Well, I introduced three new products in my life.

The first one is the Tea Tree Clay Mask by The Body Shop. I used the Tea Tree cream and it was doing good to my skin but I couldn't stand the smell. It's not bad, on the contrary, but I'm really picky with smelly creams. Well, with creams in general, I won't lie. I can't even stand to apply sunscreen on myself or others. I either use a spray or have someone to do it for me.

Back on the mask. It says to use twice a week for 10-15 minutes but I have been using it every 6 days for 10 minutes. I know my skin and it doesn't do well with masks so I didn't want to risk it. And it has worked perfectly!

The texture is soft, has a lovely green colour that suits me good with my blue eyes and it doesn't smell as bad as the Tea Tree Lotion. And also it's just once a week so I can stand it. I'm not a coward. I came here to win and have the most beautiful skin ever.

The second product is on the pricey side but it's a long lasting one. It's Liz Earle's Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser. I only use it to remove my makeup and following the instructions. It removes every mascara that I've used (even the waterproof ones). I haven't tried it yet with the Benefit They're Real but I'm planning on doing it soon.

Finally, the third product is the Aloe Gentle Facial Wash. It's a foam from The Body Shop that I use twice a day. One in the morning when I wake up and one before going to bed or after I remove my makeup. With the Liz Earle product you're supposed to splash your face with cold water afterwards. What I do is first use the foam and then clean it all with cool water.

The foam is really gentle, it barely smells (so that's a win for me) and leaves my skin really soft and with a calm sensation.

And this is it for my really basic skincare routine. I hope it is useful for you guys.

Get The Look: Elle Fanning

Long time no see!

It HAS been a long time since my last post but I'm back again with more ideas and a lot to share. As you may know I recently moved to a new flat in Belfast so it has been a crazy journey but now that I've finally settled, I can take care of my baby that is this beautiful and renovated blog.

First, I want to introduce you to a new series of "Get The Look". I decided to find some styles that I like and tell you where you can find the same clothes or similar ones.

I found this photo of Elle Fanning browsing through Tumblr and I really liked her style here. She always makes bold fashion statements and sometimes I don't like what she wears but there are many times where I've thought how beautiful she looks with the fashion choices she makes.

What I like about this look is the simplicity of it. I'm always inclined to dress with comfy jeans, dresses... That's why I totally love this look on her. Also, if you have legs for days like Elle, this dress will make wonders.

I found these three different dresses on H&M that look very similar to Elle's. The first one is loose like hers but has a turtleneck. Also, if you want a more tightened dress there's the second option: a light grey dress very similar to hers but more fitted. And if you want to combine a turtleneck and a tight dress, there is the third option.

Finally, if you want to make a statement or maybe not freeze while going to uni, I bring to you this last option. A loose grey dress from Pull & Bear. And as you may see, the model also styles with a pair of chunky boots.

For the shoes, Lately I've found myself liking mor chunky boots or cut out boots than more simply ones so I'm bringing you a variety of options to combine with these dresses.

The first three are from H&M. The first one is a simple ankle boot that looks like Elle's on this outfit. The second one is one of my favourites and I'm not a high heel person but I find these kind of boots so comfortable that I find them a great option to wear with this outfit. And finally, the third one will work for those cold days or if you don't feel like showing a lot of skin. Any choice would be perfect.

And these other three boots are from Pull&Bear. The first one is also one of my favourites as I love these military-like boots. The cut out boots can also work with this outfit and also can be worn with some cool socks to give the look a little bit of fun. The leather-like knee-high boots are a little bit fancier than the H&M ones and give a smart vibe to the look.

Choosing the best bag to go with this outfit has been a real struggle. I'm addicted to bags and I tend to love them all. I've forced myself to choose only two and these are the winners:

Both are from ZARA and the one with the feather is my favourite. It gives such a chic look to the bag that I absolutely want to have it in my possession. The second one is also really pretty and I like that it has a golden chain instead of being silver.

I really hope you like these kind of posts as I enjoyed really much writing it. Leave me some feedback on the comments and don't forget to follow me on social media to be the first one to know when I upload a new post to the blog!

See you all soon!

Christmas Decor

It is definitely the season to be jolly so I'm bringing to you these Christmas decor ideas. For me, when decorating, everything is about color. First you have to pick up a color and then create a whole theme around it. For you I have chosen three different styles: Gold & Red, White/Silver & Gold and Silver.

Gold & Red
This is my mom's favourite. Usually we mainly choose red ornaments for the tree and throw a little bit of gold here and there. To give it a little bit of a more golden vibe, the lights should be yellow-ish instead of the more common white or colour ones. Also we decorate the whole living room with golden garlands and ribbons.

For setting the dining table, our first choice is a red tablecloth with gold details and matching napkins. We also use to have a centerpiece made of leaves, poinsettias and usually a red candle in the middle.

This style may be the most traditional one.

White/Silver & Gold
This is also a traditional style and one of my favourites. If we decide to go white and gold, my advice is to pick more gold ornaments for the Christmas tree and then complete it with white lights. Another choice is to choose a white Christmas tree and decorate it only with golden ornaments Also, around the house we can add some white candles, gold ribbons and new cushions for the living room.

For the table I would choose a white tablecloth and then add some golden details such as serviette rings, candles and a beautiful golden centrepiece.

Silver
For this Christmas theme, I suggest to do absolutely everything silver and maybe throw in some white flowers and/or candles. It is perfect for a white Christmas. Where I live in Spain it never snows in Christmas so I find this theme the perfect one if we want to feel that snowy vibe.

Finally, for the dining table, I would go the same way; everything silver. White tablecloth with maybe some embroidered Christmas details in silver and then silver ornaments everywhere. A centrepiece, serviette rings, candle holders...

I also would love to share with you some photographs of last Christmas decorations at home last year where I decided to also decorate my room with some lights, photographs... This year it's going to be the first time that I'm away so I don't even know if I'll have time to decorate (I hope I will) so as a reminder of the good times, I'm sharing with you these photographs.

I hope you liked these ideas and I wish you a really happy Christmas with your loved ones.

Feelunique

Today I want to talk to you about the fabulous website FEELUNIQUE. I discovered this website through another blogger, Inthefrow, when she made a beauty haul video where she showed every product that she got. In that moment I had to check out if they were that good and yes, they were.
Being from a small city in Spain we don't get to have loads of beauty products. We have the fortune of having a Sephora in the city but still, the city doesn't offer as many products as a mere Boots here in the UK offers. As a result of that, I decided to browse through their website and see if they had products that I couldn't get in Spain and also if the same products that I could buy here were cheaper. Also, having a free delivery spending more than 15€/£10 was more than reasonable to decide to place an order.

In my first purchase I got a "First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream" cream, a product nonexistent in Spain which has helped me a lot with some skin struggles. I have always had a sensitive skin that tends to have spots, pimples... And this skin care cream has been perfect for me. Also, thanks to this website, if you have a product in mind and are not sure about buying it or not, there's always the review section where loads of customers leave their opinions so you can decide before purchasing.

I also got some Aussie shampoos and conditioners. In Spain they are really expensive. And here they had a fantastic offer so it was a no-brainer. I got these three: "Aussie Miracle Recharge Moisture", "Aussie Colour Mate" and "Aussie Miracle Recharge Luscious Long".
The first one has helped a lot with my hair as it tends to be really dry and tangled after a shower. The second one has also made a noticeable change in my hair. I have had a dramatic ombrè in my hair for a while and my ends were a really bright blonde, almost silver, so Aussie Colour Mate Shampoo has been the perfect shampoo to maintain it. And finally, the best product of all, the Luscious Long leave-in conditioner. Having long hair it is already a struggle for lots of us but dealing also with an almost platinum blonde ends... that is a lot of work if you want to maintain it healthy. This conditioner changed my life. I have to spend less time on my hair and my crazy life is really greatful.

Finally, the last thing I got was actually a gift for myself. I always wanted to have a "Tangle Teezer" brush and since I saw the compact ones I really needed to have one. In Spain they're almost nowhere to be seen so this was my only opportunity. Also, they had been out of stock for a while so when I saw them back, I had to buy one. I chose the golden one and let me say that it is the cutest hair brush ever. It is really good that you can cover it so the bristles won't bend and also hairs won't be left in your purse or bag if you decide to take it with you.

I hope this post was helpful for all of you who sometimes wonder if ordering beauty products online is a good idea or not. For me has been a great experience and I still order from them from time to time now that I live in the UK. They have great deals and when I cannot find something in my local shops, I know I can rely on Feelunique,
